In April of 1999 I purchased a bike that had a GT STS (STT Carbon fiber) frame. Well, it cracked, and my local bike shop sent it in for warrantly work. I was told that GT nolonger makes the frame, nor do they have any in stock for warranty replacement. They replaced it with what I beleive is a GT iDrive 3.0 frame. My question is about how these two frames compare. It seems to me, that from the cost that I have seen on the iDrive 3.0 bikes, that the frame is not comparable to the frame I had. Can anyone give me kind of a thumbs up/down on the quality of the frames in comparrison to each other?

allez frames and it was replaced with a "comparable" welded aluminum frame they now sell. Not even close to being as nice. BTW will any of your old stuff even fit? I wouldn`t be happy as the STS bike was a MUCH more expensive bike.

in fact they are a little heavier than the Aluminum GT frames.
Being a philosopher, I have a problem for every solution.
