Water temps are pretty mild still on Lake Ontario this time of year btw mid 50`s and low 60`s. Air temps this past week, on the other hand, have been a bit nippy-already getting smatterings of lake effect snow over the weekend. I had the pleasure of swimming in my rig after breaking a boom during a powered 5.5 Seneca lake sunrise session on Saturday in 45 degree weather-oh joy ! Here is a buoy report you can check: http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.phtml? station=45012 You`re visiting at the peak of the windsurfing season here (if there is such a thing in upstate NY). Fronts have been rolling thru one after another for the past week, although we`re supposed to get fair weather this coming week, w/ possibly a front coming thru for the weekend. Cross your fingers. Have fun, Mike

We have similar weather here in Madison Wis. as well. I was recently sailing San Francisco and asked the locals when you have to use drysuits aorund there and they looked at me as if to say " why in the world would you sail if you had to use a drysuit" Well, where I am from, about the only time to ever sail 5.0 conditions is if you have on a drysuit. Yeh, here are a couple of descriptions about the two seasons experienced in the north, as in:
White Winter and Green Winter or how about
Winter and the Fourth of July
Ray, who`ll be experiencing an unseasonably warm 80 deg F day today here in North Dakota but that`ll change.

Jeez Ben, it`s usually fetch`in (vernacular) cold here in Utah too, but we`ve had a very mild fall, and I`m still riding formula gear around the mountain lakes, where the water is still amazingly warm(upper 60s), in my summer suit. Maybe you should move..... to Margartia.....
Hang onto that Jet Stream, your cold weather seems to be keeping our local weather warm.
The whole PNW has been warm too. Think I`m off to the Gorge in about a week for some more warm sailing ;*)

that was a bit short of wind but great for mountain biking and now it`s still quite mild (17c on Friday) with a bit of wind as well and looking forward to more. It`s even possible to sail all year with a bit of tolerance to cold
