The 2nd version of the El Paso Puzzler endurance mountain bike race is scheduled for February 7, 2009.  The course will be 50 miles this year with new single track, better feed zones, the same good post race food, and more racers.

This is what Dave from the Big Dave’s Blogging Adventures writes about it:

The Puzzler is definitely the toughest 50….by far.  I can’t wait for this year’s race.  I hope that by having the sag vehicles, more people will be willing to give it a shot.  Completing a course this tough on your own or for training is more difficult than in a competitive setting.  So I’m hoping that more people give it a shot this year.

Hey, i a mountain biker and im interested in riding the puzzler, but i only know the park trail or the west side(15-17 miles).
Is the east side of the mountain as technical as the west side?
    Thanks!
    Miguel

Some sections on the east side are pretty technical, but not as much as the west side. The east side has a lot of slower climbs and old mining roads.
